On this day, 34 years ago, my mother brought me into this world. I was one of those babies that was almost three weeks overdue and decided to come around 2:00am the day my mom was scheduled to be induced. I waited until the last-minute. Her water broke, and 30 minutes later, I was born at home while my father was still sleeping.
Can we make any conclusions about me from this entrance? Perhaps. Perhaps I’m a person that ponders and wonders for a while until I feel things are just “right” and then I jump in without every looking back.
My life has been an eventful one. A quaint childhood, an incredibly challenging adolescence, an awkward young adulthood, and now a blossoming and traveled adult.
On this day of my birth, I want to say thank you. Thank you to all those that have come before me to make my life what it is. I’m safe, my needs are met, and I am happy. Because of this, I can pursue my dreams and work toward thriving as a spiritual being and as a member of society.
Thank you to all those whose paths have crossed mine on this crazy journey called “life.” Your presence was felt and I’m grateful for what I learned from you.
I hope that I can continue to develop and grow, becoming the best version of myself so that I may see beyond myself and focus on others.
I hope to give more than I take and to love more than I thought I could.
Here’s to another year of possibilities! xoxoxo
