We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Despite several people having colds and Pookie losing her dinner the night before our trip, we were able to make it out to Indianapolis to visit our friends.
And it was awesome.
We drove up on Wednesday, so we had that evening to hang out and catch up. Thanksgiving Day was one of the most relaxed we’ve had. We slowly cooked and even had time to take our little ones to a nearby park.
The park had these really cool swings that Pookie couldn’t get enough of. She just sat there relaxing and swinging for about 20 minutes.
After the park, we napped (because everyone who likes it, should), did the finishing touches on Thanksgiving dinner, and then gorged. It was delish.
Friday we ventured to the mall, mostly just to get out of the house for a bit and for the girls to play on the play structure.
Pookie hasn’t had many playdates, so every time we get together with friends who have kiddos around Pookie’s age, it’s always a learning experience for everyone. Thankfully, our girls got along great with only a few pushes (from Pookie…).
Saturday we headed home. We’ve discovered that at Pookie’s age, it’s best to drive during nap times or overnight. For everyone’s sanity.
Saturday night we got things ready for Pookie’s pre-birthday party that we had on Sunday (pictures to come!) and for Rob to go back out on the interview trail. Big sad face.
So, I’m a solo momma for the next two weeks.
Wish me luck, and restraint with sugary delights and nightcaps. 🙂
